ECOBLU PRODUCT'S PARTNERSHIP WITH REALTIME LABORATORIES SEEKS SOLUTION TO SIX BILLION DOLLAR NATIONWIDE MOLD DAMAGE DISASTER
Realtime Laboratories Publishes Study in Scientific Journal
Vista, CA-March 9th , 2010- EcoBlu Products, Inc., (OTCBB: ECOB) announced today that it has partnered with Realtime Laboratories (RTL), Dallas, Texas, to test lumber products in mold-infested homes. Mold damage costs home and building owners an estimated six billion dollars in repairs. Up until now there has been no defense for Contractors and Builders against these Defect Attorneys. This problem alone is destroying the Insurance Companies, Lenders, Contractors and Builders says Conboy CEO and President of EcoBlu Products, Inc. The cost to treat health problems associated from this exposure to toxin producing molds far exceeds this repair estimate. Everyone talks about the Green movement however this is the problem that is destroying Home Builders.
Since many insurance policies contain exclusions for mold damage, building owners are left to fend for themselves. However, RealTime Laboratories has determined the presence of mycotoxins (mold toxins) in samples of mold-infested lumber. Since it is not currently excluded in many insurance policies, mycotoxin remediation rather than mold damage repair may give property owners a new avenue for assistance.
EcoBlu's work has demonstrated that molds will not grow on lumber that has been treated with EcoBlu's BluWood Technology. If mold is alleviated from the source (lumber), and is prevented from growing, the potential for the presence of disease causing mycotoxins is alleviated. RTL has conducted in-house studies to show that the molds are inhibited from growing on lumber products after being treated with EcoBlu's BluWood Technology. These same studies have shown that if mycotoxins are present on wood products, the EcoBlu solution can dilute the presence of any mycotoxins and prevent further growth of the toxin producing organisms. Some studies, compiled by various government agencies and other health agencies, indicate that the concentration of mycotoxins present in humans and in the environment may be too low to affect human health. RTL has isolated mycotoxins from patients with malignancies, neurological disorders, skin diseases, pediatric patients with the diagnosis of autism, and others. Although other studies, including environmental health studies, have different conclusions, concerning the importance of mycotoxins and molds, the findings by RTL should not be disregarded. EcoBlu's product can possibly prevent further progression of these diseases by eliminating the causation.
RTL's patent pending process uses immunology based testing to study samples of lumber and wood scrapings. Additionally, RealTime Laboratories has published a study in the International Journal of Molecular Science on April 1, 2009. The study and research appeared in the article "Mycotoxin Detection in Human Samples from Patients Exposed to Environmental Molds" http://www.mdpi.com/1422-0067/10/4/1465 written by the associated from RealTime Laboratories, Dallas, TX, Texas Tech, University, Lubbock, TX, and Your Energy Systems, Palo Alto, CA.
The research team, led by Dennis G. Hooper, M.D., Ph.D., consists of multiple scientists knowledgeable in molds and mycotoxins and the development of enzyme tests which can determine the presence of mycotoxins in human body fluids as well as in environmental samples. Hooper says the peer-reviewed research demonstrated that mycotoxins can be isolated not only in building materials and home environments but also from human fluids and tissues. RTL's tests that usually consist of analyzing urine samples helps doctors determine if the environmental exposure to molds and mycotoxins are causing a person's health problem.
Members of the RTL team have published multiple scientific papers on the presence of molds and mycotoxins in "sick buildings". In 2009, David Straus, Ph.D.,Texas Tech, University Health Sciences Center, published a review article on "Molds, mycotoxins, and sick building syndrome" in Toxicology and Industrial Health 25:617-635, 2009, http://tih.sagepub.com/cgi/content/short/25/9-10/617 explaining the importance of molds and their mycotoxins in this phenomenon. The studies summarized that "trichothecenes mycotoxins of Stachybotrys chartarum can easily be dissociated from the surface of the organism as it grows and thus spread in buildings as the fungus experiences additional water events". Thus, if a building or lumber gets wet and there is nothing present to prevent the growth of these toxic molds, the molds will grow and produce toxins. Many follow-on studies have shown that "molds and toxins, when inhaled can release a significant allergic inflammatory reaction in the lungs of mice. This same reaction can occur in the infested sick buildings where people are complaining of health problems potentially associated with Sick Building Syndrome."
Work conducted and presented at scientific meetings by RTL has demonstrated that mycotoxins can be isolated from known malignant tumors in animals and humans. Such mycotoxins can also be isolated in skin, sputum, urine, and many tissue sources, if the patient or animal has been exposed to the toxin producing molds.
